MIDI Designer hangs on start! What to do?

Question

Very infrequently, a user will send in a support email saying the App hangs on start. What to do? Here are our trips for getting unstuck.

Answer 1

Steps to resolve:

1. Force quit and restart the App. 
2. If force quitting doesn't help, reboot your device. In theory, this should be the same as force quitting, but in the field we've seen that it often sorts everything out. 
3. If a reboot doesn't do it.... Using the Files app, rename everything in your MIDI Designer directory.
   1. autosave.mididesigner
   2. config.xml
   3. sometimes, you have an autosave-presets... rename this too
4. Force quit and restart.
5. Load your renamed autosave!
6. Worst case: delete and reinstall the App. Backup your files first using the Files app!
7. If the problem happens again immediately, send an email to support via Config -> Actions
