could be good. Also, you're aware that you can add your own "more" button, right?

The problem is that the whole area up there is pretty constrained. Make a blank iPad layout with multiple banks and 6 pages per side to see the limits there.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I guess one solution would be to make it wide if you have no bank selectors showing.
I hadn't considered the Bank buttons (which I rarely populate), so thanks for reminding me. I guess I'm just finding the number of actions to load a new Layout a bit onerous these days.
I've just gotten back into working with layout design in MDP2 and the iOS MultiTasking ellipsis button over the the MDP2 MORE button was driving me crazy

Is this what you are talking about here? I mostly use an ipad mini and the iOS MultiTasking ellipsis is always over MORE button

In use, I've found if users
-first touch just below the MORE button>
-slide up finger while still touching to over MORE button and then back down>
-then the MORE button animates down to be accessible

Surely this is covered somewhere else I haven't seen on this QnA because MDP2 team must have added that feature, no?
New fixes coming in next Beta to dump the More Button entirely (or mostly)

re: I guess I'm just finding the number of actions to load a new Layout a bit onerous these days.

iPadOS 15 and later have only added one extra tap of the screen to cause the MORE to drop down.

The fastest way to load is to tap the filename in the file manager, which lets you sort by name, etc.

The three dots can end up in different locations depending on the screen aspect vs the original layout aspect.  On mine, they usually end up behind the right bank selector.

And, should you start playing with Stage Manager, the three buttons can end up anywhere along the top of the display.  I would avoid Stage Manager with MDP2.

Is the right-bank selector usable when the 3 dots overlap?
if memory serves all three drop down: bank selectors and MORE
