Beta version expires, but important layouts are stuck in its data folder, not seen by purchased version - how to fix

I wanted to post this for others who run into the same problem. I was a MDNext beta tester, and was happily working on my layouts, making tweaks, etc. until sunday, when the Beta expired.  I instantly went to the app store and purchased a copy of MDPro2 and when I started it, my layouts were not there - the new version did not know about the beta version.  The solution I found was to attach the iPad to a computer using iTunes, then use the iTunes file transfer feature to copy xxxx.mididesigner layouts into the filespace for the new MDPro2 version.  As mine were saved as autosave, I needed to change the name to "auto.mididesigner" before copying into the new folder.  Once I did that, my layout was available for loading in the config.actions.load dialog.  I'm posting this in case anyone else encounters this issue.

First off, using the Files app you should be able to "send" layouts from one version to the other. Also, you can mail them to yourself from one version to the other. Also, you can do it the way you said, using iTunes File Sharing

Dan, just wanted to make a correction to your post - I could not mail from one version to the other because the Beta version expired and could not be opened. If I had paid attention and knew ahead of time that the Beta was GOING to expire, you are correct, I could have mailed the layouts to myself to back up.  The entire problem I reported on is when the Beta completely stopped working, preventing me from opening it and taking steps to backup my layouts.   Thanks! This is good to have as information, but also please remember that the Beta is:
1) free to use with Dropbox as a backup
2) not supposed to expire, really... so if it does, let us know so we can spin another version to bridge until we have something to share.

I use iPad 2's, which got left behind 3 months ago because they can't run a new iOS update that MD now uses. So I stopped getting updates on the MD2 beta - that's why the 90 day expiration just shut it off.  I realize I'm in an unusual situation, but I posted this because there are probably other iPad2 users in the beta program that will have the same situation.
