How can I create a new layout?

My current, fairly complex layout with many banks and pages is saved. I need to create a new layout but see no option to do so. Rather than remove each page and save a new "blank" layout, I noticed the Reset UI item in configuration, but was stopped by the ominous "Really reset UI? All pages will be wiped" message.

 

Will pages be wiped from the currently displayed layout, but the stored layout be retained?

 

Would you consider a "New Layout" option similar to the way a new page can be created?

(short answer:) Yes, saved layout will be retained. Mail it to yourself using Mail Layout to ensure that you always have it. If it's nice to look at, please send a copy to checkOutMyLayout [at] midiDR.com.

P.S. What should "Reset UI" be called?

Reset UI–no problems. It was the message that had me thinking twice. "Wipe all pages" has a different connotation for me than something like "This will display a new layout."

That terminology is from when there really was no other way to save, so it just wiped everything forever. Anyway, in the future MIDI Designer will work more like a word processor in terms of files (New Layout, etc.)
