Sysex Checksums?

Question

How do I have the sysex checksum appended to a sysex command sent from a control?  I havea  bunch of gear that requires checksums so without this, a bunch of older gear (typically the kind which desperately need a good programming interface) will be uneditable.

Hi and thanks for your question.

First off: if you have an iPad, you can download the Lite version of MIDI Designer and try all these things out for yourself.

MIDI Designer provides support for two types of checksums (currently): Roland and Axe FX II. The latter is probably useful for other equipment as well.

If you find that your particular hardware is not supported, let me know and I'll add your type of checksum to the next release of MIDI Designer.
