How to set up last two bytes variables sysex message formula M-audio black box?

Hi all, 

I’m analyzing a M-Audio Black Box and have most of the sysex adresses.

I just can’t figure out how to use the V (variable) at the end.

A sysex message looks like this:

F0 00 01 05 01 00 02 00 01 02 00 02 00 00 F7 

The knob values range are 0-99 and it should increase like this:

F0 00 01 05 01 00 02 00 01 02 00 02 00 00 F7 

F0 00 01 05 01 00 02 00 01 02 00 02 00 00 F7 (dec  0)——> F0 00 01 05 01 00 02 00 01 02 00 02 03 06 F7 (dec 99)

Haven’t seen that before: the last of the last two bytes byte increases by one when the first of the last two byte reaches XF —> X0

How do set this up?

Use a named tick list and modify the midi values

Yes, that works!

Named tick list midi values 1-16 are standard 0-15, then 16 - 31 become values 128 - 142, etc.

Copy that list for all the controls that need it.

Nice... of course you have to interpolate (extrapolate?) the MIDI values to get the Named Ticks to work right, but hopefully the MIDI Log makes it relatively easy.
