Reveal Your EWI
The purpose of this Layout is to assist EWI4000S players reveal and control this excellent wind instrument. The EWI Player's visual display panel also makes it a great learning tool. No more hunting through EWI menus!
Any of the EWI's one hundred patches are just a tap away on the iPad screen, allowing instant unlimited voice changes during performance, without having to pause playing.
The Note, Octave, and Volume of the current sound are instantly and clearly visible. If your EWI is loaded with the excellent Patchman EWI4000S Volume 1 Soundbank, the name of the patch also will be shown.
Voice buttons light up and remain on while being used. Voice changes also can be made by rotating the pointer on the Voice Wheel, with a voice number and complete Patchman voice name.
There's even a STOP button in case of runaway MIDI panic or stuck notes.
EWI Settings
The EWI4000S layout requires the following settings on the EWI:
| EWI Setting | EWI Menu | Setting | Sub-setting | Action |
|---|
| MIDI Channel | CH | 1 | n/a | (default) |
| Breath Send * | bS | uo* | (transmit) | Volume |
| Program Change * | PC | Et* | (transmit) | PC Messages |
NOTE: Breath Send and Program Change must be set to transmit by pressing the TRANS button while SETUP and TRANS lights are flashing. A small red dot will appear at the top right of the settings display. Press SETUP to exit with this setting.
