Ratio super control and multiple chained subcontrols

Hi all, so I’ve got a Supercontrol knob with midi 0-100 (dec) and it controls in sequence (not sequential!) other knobs with midi 0-127. As you can understand when the super control hits its max and the sub control hits value 100 it’s three-quarters it’s full range, the sub knob is at 3 o clock. The MIDI value is copied by the subs but not the visual.

Now I want to display somehow at the end of the chain the sub knob visual at its max like the super but it seems like the ratio’s between knobs stay the same. 50 % ratio super = 50 % ratio sub or am I missing something here?

Is there a workaround to solve this?

At  0.8 the subknob displays the same range as the super.

While it's not great to have to hack this way, it's actually pretty brilliant that the math checks out. However, it's also hacks like this -- and there so many people have used -- that make it hard to change the platform. So keep going, thanks!!!

You could create a new MDP3 and leave this MDP2 available as MDP classic or MDP 2012 or whatever title? I’m sure nobody would have a problem with that. It’s like the betatesting app, it’s like having 2 MDP’s on one device. You would also have the loyality of the existing public who would buy your app anyways. 25 bucks? We ‘ve spend more on midi cables!

Yeah, back when we released MDP2, we considered various approaches to eliminating legacy problems and possibly earning better. There was also the question of keeping the amazing ratings that MD has had. It's a long story, but the end result is that MD is not getting a major overhaul soon. The good news is that MD is well-funded and will keep pace with Apple, which isn't easy in itself. These oddities of the platform that you are exploiting are staying...
