How can I disable the floating scroll and zoom icons in the lower right of the display?

Question

I am using Ipad2's so never need to change the screen resolution.  Last year, the pointing finger and arrow floating icons appeared in the lower right, and I understand why they are needed now that iPads have different resolutions. However I don't need them, and they make my buttons at the bottom right very difficult to select.  I searched the manual for "zoom" and "pan" controls, thinking it must be a switch that I can turn off in the main MD config.  Having not found any reference in the manual, I came here.   I would like to know how to turn off the floating scroll and zoom function. Thanks!

It's a bug (regression) on the older iOS versions. They are not needed in Landscape mode ever on any iPad, but we've focused all of our testing and fixing on iOS 12, where everything should work.

They are useful on iPad when using MidiDesigner in SlideOver or Splitscreen mode. Are these gone in iOS 12?

Not at all! On iOS 12 we’re able to detect split screen, slide over, and portrait mode. If you’re not in one of those, and you’re not on an 11 inch iPad, then the icons will hide.

You should. iOS 12 is the only no-brainer update in the history of iOS. Makes all devices faster and that. It’s great. While it’s absolutely destroyed their revenue stream for the moment — no forced upgrades— Apple knows those people are still users and will upgrade some day. But I digress.
