Hi, I’m new here and working a few days with midi designer pro 2.
My first target is building a dream midi controller for the boss katana who got full midi accessible through the primova midx20, a device that allows manipulating all midi parameters available for the boss katana.
Whatch these vids before reading further.
When building the graphical interface for the modulation section I have CC’s 60-72.
CC 60 controls which FX will be chosen: value 0 is a chorus, value 1 is a phaser, etc.
The other CC ‘s are shared for different purposes, for example when selecting CC60 value 0 (chorus), CC62 controls low rate for chorus but when CC60 value 10 (compressor) is selected, the CC62 controls sustain. To be able to tell what’s what when composing the graphical interface I considered using smaller knobs on top of bigger knobs with name ticks.
The named ticks represent the different values for each CC (61--72) when selecting a different FX (CC60) . On top of that knob is the knob that actually alters the CC. The big knob in the video controls CC60 and it is a supercontrol for the named ticks controls so the interface changes when selecting the different FX. This way you can read the corresponding CC right values with the right FX, CC60
There is a problem however: this only works when midi range 0-127 is used. The big knob controls the other knob (subcontrols) fluently. Each knob has 36 ticks (there are 36 effects) but when using CC60, midi range values 0-35, I get a different response from the sub controls.
This only seems to work when using midi range 0-127 and the thing is : the selection of FX is in the range 0-35.
What am I doing wrong here?
Grtz,
Gurbz
