MDXG, Voices on New Yamaha with iPad Air 2

Question

Hi, Please can anyone help me, I purchased the midi control section of the package, it's the one that says I can control my Yamaha keyboard voices through my iPad, or that's how I understood it. Anyway I have used garage band and others which have worked perfectly well but this app only works on the iPad with no sound through the Yamaha however when I press the keys on the Yamaha the keys on the iPad keyboard depress also but the iPad stays silent. I find this odd, I use a camera connection kit to hook iPad to keyboard. I've tried uninstalling it but no joy. Did I misunderstand what this app does, only it seems clear to me. The thing is there only seems to be info on here regarding the midi designer but there's more to it and some help would be really good. The app also crashes and I have to restart it.

Ok, yes when it freezes it will come back so that's not the big problem, please can you give me instructions on how to get the sound from the app to my keyboard, there's a configuration area but absolutely no instructions on how to configure. I just cannot work it out, I am tech savvy and usually very good at this sort of thing but I am beat on this one. I have both midi in and midi out highlighted and there are two keyboards one with 'thru' greyed or if depressed turns blue??!! When these apps are created it seems they are only for the experts :-) not for the likes of myself, it's a kind of guessing game, please guide me through the actual set up of the software, it appears it's not plug and play like the other apps are. I wondered if it's a simple case of buy the whole package and it will work. I am really grateful for your help.

Sorry for the confusion, I see what's happening here: the MDXG app does NOT produce sound (nor does MDP2, the "whole package"). It's a controller for Yamaha gear, which acts as the sound source. Does that help?

Oh right, but the entire sound boards on the app are identical to my Yamaha keyboards sounds, in the same order etc, when you say gear, is that a particular instrument or Yamaha gear as in several different.  Still confused but thanks very much for your help, I just need to try for a refund.
