Latency problems

Question

I made a control panel for Sampletank , but have a MIDI latency of about  .3 sec

IPAD is connected via Roland midi cable to HX3 organ 

Playing with Sampletank , no latency at all !

Very annoying when playing key instruments for instance piano.

What can be done. It's unusable with such a delay .

Midi Designer , is used as control panel for Sample Tank (= sound module app )
When i disable Midi designer  and play directly on Sampletank via MIDI
( wit an organ , hardware connected with Roland Midi cable to Ipad )  - -> no latency
When Midi Designer is started up and controlling Sampletank  , and i do the same      --> latency of ca 0.3 sec

Very annoying when you play piano, guitar , harp etc.

Why not route the keyboard to sampletank and not process it through MIDI Designer Pro?

Because the instrument/combi  selection is too complex in Sampletank and the potmeters are to small to use it for live playing.
That's why i choosed Midi designer , to have a usable control panel, only.....the latency ...is gigantic.

I like MidiDP but it cannot be the intention of a MIDI control panel, to introduce a huge MIDI delay, no  ?

Thanks so much for pointing out that latency when playing piano keys would be a huge problem for you and render MD unusable. Let me assure you that not only are we committed to solving this problem for your specific case, but we are also musicians and have thousands of users working on MD with no particular latency. Your use case is very particular, since you're playing a HARDWARE keyboard through MD and then passing that information on to SampleTank. This is NOT THE CORRECT SETUP, though we in the future of MD this setup might be contemplated. FOR THE TIME BEING what you need to do is to use MD to control Sampletank but to AVOID USING MD AS A TRANSLATION APP. To do this, simply shut off the UM-ONE as an input for MD. So the UM-ONE should be going to SampleTank and MIDI Designer should ALSO be going to Sample Tank, but the hardware keyboard should NOT be processed through MIDI Designer.

Of course, if any of this proves to be difficult, we will work with you to find a setup that is acceptable, and if we have to modify MIDI Designer to make your use case work, of course we can, and FAST. But for right now, let's try to focus on removing this annoying situation by solving the problem using the tools we have at hand. Later we can discuss other ways that MD could make this situation easier for you.

Indeed there is no need to send note information true MD
If i can stop that , with this solution, i think the problem will be solved.

If i stop the UM one as input , can i make that permanent,
or do i need to do every time again ?

MD has only to do the instrument or multi selection,  and that's all.

Yeah !!!   Problem solved !

All midi inputs off. Note information , straight to Sampletank.
Output , Sampletank , that's all .

I also use Midi Bridge ( for midi filtering , and velocity curve correction, )
but that's situated between the Roland UM ONE cable and Sampletank.
Also switched off in MD. outputs
