You can absolutely use an X-Touch Compact to control MIDI Designer, but... why? What are you ultimately trying to control? Thanks!
I have auria on my ipad and i ultimately wanted to control it with an external device. I purchased an x-touch compact but it will not work currently with auria. I was then trying to get midi designer to control auria (if thats possible?)
If yes then i could then use the xtouch to control auria via midi designer, if that makes sense?
But i have now way of knowing yet. I am finding the midi designer not so easy to use.
I have a korg nano kontrol that will control auria and i believe that there is a template for that? But i cannot find it?
Any help with this would be very much welcomed :)
David
Hi there. MIDI Designer is a modular MIDI controller, meaning that you set it up and map to your MIDI target. I imagine that with your Nano you are using it with Mackie protocol? What config did you do with the nano?
Hi. Yes its mapped with HUI protocol. Auria apparently can use HUI and MCU but the xtouch can work in MCU but for some reason its not controlling the faders etc in auria. Auria however can move faders on the xtouch so the communication is lost somewhere?
I thoght that perhaps midi designer would work as a 'go between' and allow me to do what i wanted which is somehow use the xtouch to control auria.
For this use, MidiFlow or MidiBridge are better fits, although I don't know if either will do what you need. MD is much more of a modular MIDI controller, as we don't do HUI nor Mackie... in certain cases it makes sense to control MD from an external MIDI controller -- that's out pedalboards feature -- but in that case, you'd map up EACH control. Not at all what you're searching for.
Does that help?
Yes it does. Thank you.
My search continues with those apps you mentioned.
Thank you for the reply's.
Much appreciated.
Glad to help and good luck!
