Developing for non-music use

Question

I'm building an OS X app that reads MIDI data and uses it to squirt commands to another app on the Mac (Lightroom).  It's working well but there's a couple of things I could do with.

Firstly, if a slider in Lightroom that's being driven by a MIDI Designer slider is changed by a user, could I have that MD slider change, maybe by sending out a MIDI event?

Secondly, many of my Lightroom sliders set floating point values in a variety of ranges. I'd like to have sliders in MIDI Designer have the same ranges and show floating point values. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this right now but I wondered if it was something you might be willing to add.

1) MD is fully bidirectional, so it will respond as well as send.
2) Yes, we'll consider it, but as a workaround... well, it depends on the floating point values. Note: sometimes with the Ticks you can get close, since you can have 0-999... and with Named Ticks you can get even closer.

I can probably get by with named ticks. But only on dials, not sliders. Is that correct?

right now they're on sliders, crossfaders and knobs. And the implementation is pretty awesome (can I say that?) ;)

Which version of MD are you using? You need to 1) switch the control use named ticks and 2) put some text values in, otherwise you don't see the name box appear

The Use Named Ticks button had scrolled off the bottom of the dialog where I couldn't see it. Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe a scroll bar or something, it's not immediately apparent that the dialogs scroll.
