How can I create keyboard zones
0
votes
I want to connect one or more midi keyboards and create zones so that when I play on a range of keys the note data is set to one sound module and when I play on another part of the keyboard it's sent to another sound module

Hey there, this is possible in MIDI Designer using supercontrols and subcontrols, but it's a LOT of work. Much better would be to use MidiBridge or MidiFlow (neither of which we make)... using the right tool, the job would be easy.
I looked into midiflow and talked to the designer by e-mail. His product has a lot of the right attributes for the job, i.e. it zones, remaps controllers, allows you to select a new zone map via a received midi patch change, you can renumber the zone map midi patch number (allows you to rearrange the set list and just step upward as the band goes through the set) and so forth.
What it presently lacks is the ability to send any kind of setup information to the synth modules being controlled.
So he's only about 2/3 there right now.
You might want to explain your case to Nic @ audeonic, makers of MidiBridge. Maybe that app can do it. Thx.
