Best choice to connect iPad mini for midi use?

I am looking for which interface is best for my iPad mini which has an 8 pin female connector. What I have seen online so far are the Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II iOS MIDI interface and the iRig mini. It looks like they both have a larger (30 pin?) male connectors. If these units do have 30 pin connectors, will the Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter (MD823ZM/A) be what I need to connect my iPad mini to either the iRig or Line 6 interface?

I'm looking for your opinion if one of these is a better choice. It looks like the iRig can supply power to the iPad mini during a performance, but I know that plugging power into computer devices can result in hum when using the computer's battery does not. Just wondering if others see this with powered iPads as well. Please let me know if there is another option other than the iRig or Mobilizer.

Sorry for what probably seems really simple questions, but I'm new to IOS devices. I'm really looking forward to setting this up. I appreciate all the help!

NOTE: We're also part of the Team behind Music IO. You could connect straight to your Mac from your iOS device -- if you're using a computer, that is -- and then route the MIDI onwards to your other devices (and back the other way, of course).
