Will MIDIDesigner run on an iPad mini or do you recommend/require an iPad? Can I build and run layouts on an iMac and also use them on the iPad? It looked like the free version you provide runs on the mini I have, but it did show a "one time popup" that said something about having limited resources.

iPad mini is fine, you might want a stylus because it's smaller.

No, MD is for iPad (and iPhone/iPod touch) only

The free version... which? Anyway, the one-time popup is no big deal, really. It appears less with more performant devices -- like the iPad air 2 -- but the mini is fine if that's what you have.

It looks like we have access to the layouts that already exist on your site for the Line6 HD500X and GR-55. Awesome. I like being able to create my own pages but having already made ones would be a great start and learning tool.

Is there any suggested reading for someone new to using this type of software that has little experience with midi?

There is a manual: midiDesigner.com/manual

Aside from that, get in touch with any specific questions. Usually, knowledge of MIDI is not that important in what you're trying to accomplish. Once you figure out a few basic things, you're on the way.

Thanks!

That is awesome. I will be giving it a go this weekend. Thank you very much.
