Summary: According to the author: "This is a master control layout for the iPad app, Soundscaper. This layout takes a "control differently" approach by mapping each of the main controls to the associated parameters for all 3 oscillators. So, for example, turning the Clock knob will simultaneously change the clock speed for all 3 oscillators. I think you'll find this adds a whole new dimension to the app."
This is a master control layout for the iPad app, Soundscaper. This layout takes a "control differently" approach by mapping each of the main controls to the associated parameters for all 3 oscillators. So, for example, turning the Clock knob will simultaneously change the clock speed for all 3 oscillators. I think you'll find this adds a whole new dimension to the app.
Note that all of the buttons are momentary switches that toggle the corresponding switch in Soundscaper. For shared buttons, this means the state for each oscillator will be changed to the opposite of its current state. For example, if clock mode for OSC 1 and 2 are set to "faster" and OSC 3 is set to "slower", hitting the "Fast/Slow" button will set 1 and 2 to "slower" and 3 to "faster".
The shared controls on the first page are clock speed, clock offset, faster / slower, and reverse. There are independent mute, random, and output level controls for each oscillator.
All of the controls on the second page are designed control all 3 oscillators at once. Additionally, you might map the LFO Rate and Depth pad to the three independent modulation LFOs as well. If you would prefer to control the oscillators independently, you can use "Make Similar" from the page actions menu to create individual pages for each oscillator.
The third page has independent address circuit, trigger enable, and pulse x10 controls for each oscillator.
Unfortunately, there's currently no way to share midi mappings in Soundscaper, so mapping is a manual but straightforward process. You may want to create a new map for this in case you need to have an alternate mapping configuration for another controller, etc.
Assigning controllers is as simple as selecting the appropriate parameter on the "assign" page of the settings menu in Soundscaper, and then hitting the "learn" button. Once the button lights up, just tap the associated control on the MIDI Designer layout. For the X/Y pads, I recommend going into design mode in MIDI Designer and using the "Send Test" button to configure midi learn for those parameters.
Enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions or encounter issues using this layout.
