AT-200 not working with MIDIDesigner Pro

I have an AT-200 guitar, a M-Audio mimisport usb to midi in/out, MIDIDesigner pro and a Ipad 1. I have hooked it up many different ways but still keep getting a no connections error on the MIDIDEsigner. Help.
