Control Parameters with External Controller?
0
votes
I Own a Doepfer Drehbank and a Beringer BCR2000, both are knobby controllers. Is it possible to control Parimeters within Midi Designer with either of these? If so, how would I go about doing/mapping this?

If I understand you correctly you want to control Midi Designer parameters with your Drehbank and BCR2000?
Personally, I think that is possible. What you need to do is match the midi messages that you are sending.
So for example, if your BCR2000 knob sends a midi CC 55 Midi Designer you will need a knob that is set to CC 55. And you need to have a midi connection from the BCR2000 to Midi Designer.
But why would you want to control Midi Designer with an external controller?
Thanks EZB.
As EZB says, you can do this. The way to do this is to map the BCR2000's knobs with supercontrols. Then use subcontrols which will send that stuff. Check out the video on pedalboards (it's a bit old, but tells the story):

@EZB this is useful because you can use hardware to get control of different parameters on different pages. Does this make sense?
Let us know where you get stuck and we'll see how to push this ahead. Thank you pbdiugoss!
It makes sense, admin.
Thanks. Also, hardware just feels different and it is easier to use without looking: the hardware controllers are still very much of interest
I'm totally stuck on all of this. Would be really nice if there was an actual function dedicated for knob/fader controller connections and not so much for foot pedals.
BTW I'm actually doing this more with the Doepfer Drehbank.
Please send me an email via config - actions - email us and we'll see what we can figure out. Then we can bring it back here onto this site. Thanks!
