Lock shared layouts

This is interesting. Why would you want this? Thanks!
I'm also wondering why you'd want this actually. I can create the most wonderful layout, but what *I* think is good might not apply to someone else, so he might want to fine-tune things. Why block that feature? I myself have literally put 12+ hours into my layouts for the Roland synths, but wouldn't want them to be locked. I created them primarily for myself, but hope that others will enjoy them too, without limitations. It would only place more 'burden' on me if I'm the only one that can edit them...
Good points. On another note: Mail them to yourself often, Rainer! In the future, we'll provide a way to back up (to iCloud or Dropbox or something). For right now, mailing is the easiest option unless you back up your iPad often.
Good tip indeed - haven't had to change a thing since posting the latest version though, so that's a good sign :-) iCloud would almost be mandatory imho (doesn't it do that yet actually?) and Dropbox would be nice for easy sharing - although mail works nicely too.
Agreed, iCloud is on my list for sure. We open from Dropbox, BTW, but cannot save to Dropbox for now.
1.
In some cases, you want to send personal layouts to anyone but without editing possibility. This must be locked with a kind of possword or something.

2.
In other cases, you want to send (to share) personal layouts to anyone with editing possibility. This must be open, as now.

Thanks for this suggestion, we will consider this for a future release.
Um, this was implemented years ago. Need to find and link the docs (or make them). Thanks!
Please, where are those docs?
Sorry Ed, we were referring to the Dropbox backup. There is NO way to lock layouts for modification by others... by why would you want to?

Oh! frown

I can think of several reasons:
-I always thought it could be done
-Anyone could delete my name from the layout
-I am willing to share my work without earning any money, but not to be freely modified
-No one would bother creating an original design (I mean an elaborate graphic design) if anyone can use it for any other templates

Honestly, now I do not know if I want to share it under these conditions.

So are you working on the "building blocks" version, or did you scrap your share completely?
Hi Derek!

In fact, the layout is completely finished. I wanted to record a music video with my band to present it somehow, but lately we have not been able to rehearse.

I have recently read that a new firmware will come out, and I thought that maybe it would include new CCs that I could use.

I did that "building blocks" version, and I do not rule out uploading it too, precisely to bring out the ridiculous MIDI implementation of the machine.
