Control channel change with a button group

Hi there.

 

First let me say thank you to the dev for creating MidiDesigner. It's been such a useful and powerful tool for controlling both iOS and pc software.

 

I'm having some trouble trying to get a certain setup, I'll try and explain what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get my keyboard controller to play and control multiple apps on separate channels. I have 8 apps on channels 1 to 8 and the keyboard sent to all channels. I also have 8 faders set to control the volume on each channel and I have 8 buttons and 8 rotary encoders(knobs) that I'm trying to set up. I want to use the buttons to change the channels of the knobs so i can switch all 8 knobs to control each app, i.e when I press button 1 it changes the knobs to channel 1. I've set 8 buttons into a button group so only one button lights up at a time on my keyboard.

 

I've set up two banks of 8 knobs one set to receive midi from my knobs and as super controls of the other set as the output which are also controlled by a channel change knob. I can change the channels with the ipad knob but I can't seem to link them together. I've set the button group knob to be the controller of the channel change knob but when pressing any button it doesn't make the channel change controller move.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can we simplify the question a bit, for clarity, please? Seems like your entire question is here, "I can change the channels with the iPad knob but I can't seem to link them together"... but not sure what you're trying to link together.

Not sure how you're grouping stuff, but the Channel Changer should ONLY be used to change channels. Use another knob to group the buttons. Those buttons could be moving the channel changer around (i.e., supers of the channel changer).

Or maybe you're trying to keep buttons and manual touching of a channel changer in sync?
