transpose a set of piano keys in octaves

Question

Using the iphone version of mididesigner, I created one octave of keys to trigger Reaktor's The Finger. How do I program a knob/crossfader to increment the whole set plus/minus one octave? How would I do the same with 2 buttons? Thanks!

The very short answer is that you make a knob and change its type (or subtype) to "Octave Transpose"... now add ALL of the keys in question as subcontrols. This knob will allow you to move around octaves. Then add steppers to control this knob.

Great. I was doing it correctly the first time except for accepting the default transpose range. Once I did that, it worked flawlessly. I had initially set the +/-8va transpose limits to -2/+6 and it responded erratically.
