1) With the Funkbeat drum app, what causes the start? A MIDI start message or...?
2) Could you use Control Changes and not Program Changes on the FC50?
The answer will probably lie in creating a supercontrol which receives from the Boss, and subcontrol that sends to the Funkbeat.
I use a start/stop msg , the Boss fc50 can only send prg changes...  I created a button that sends a start stop msg and , in the low page I created a pedalboard button, with the sub control I linked the two, then with the learn function on the pedalboard button I push a switch on my Boss. I go to the performance mode but all the pedals of my boss play the start stop, not only the one I selected !!
I tried to play a fac-simile keyboard assigning different notes and play it assigning different footswitches in my boss (just like a bass pedal). I've got the same problem, every switch of my boss played all the notes !!!
Please try having the FC50's program change pedals affect ONE program change knob. That knob will be the supercontrol of various buttons, so you get a button group of different messages.
Sorry but I don't exactly understand what to do.... I create a knob and I have to use the 'learn' function by pressing the different footswitches of my boss..????
Let's suppose I want to assign different notes to different Boss footswitches , how can I do if the Learn function doesn't recognize exactly the program change number I'm sending ?...
So: when you hit "learn" for the program change, the knob should learn it, and then change to a different value for each of the footswitches. The reason is that, for MIDI Designer, all the footswitches are sending different values of THE SAME program change.

See if you can get the knob moving to different values depending on which footswitch you hit. Then we'll talk about how to get different buttons to send depending on that, please.
ok, this evening i'll try!
Perfect, the knob change value for every pedal footswitch, and now?
Now make the knob a supercontrol and make buttons as subcontrols. This will create a button group.

Now the knob will switch you through the buttons.
Yessss it works!!!! Now I have to set the right steps of the knob with the number of pedals of my Fc50...
I just bought the complete version of midi designer pro...;-)
Thanks!!
That's great to news, glad to hear we got you sorted. If you feel so inclined: Please remember to give a written, 5-star review of MDP (and MD Lite) with each new version in the App Store. Thanks!
Is this the app you're using?

Yes it is!
I'll remember the 5 stars... don't worry!!!
Now i'm trying to create a  layout using a start/stop knob on midi ch.1 with funkbeat and a Bass pedal (using my boss fc50) with the sounds of Sunrizer.
I also would like to create chords with a simple footswitch but it isn't so easy.... you know, I'm a guitar player!!!!

Since program changes are actually all the same MIDI message, buttons cannot work directly. Instead:

  1. Make a knob that receives the program changes.
  2. The knob will be the supercontrol for a button group.
