As far as I know that's not possible. If someone else disagrees let me know how it's done.

An alternate solution would be the following

- You create 2 buttons. 1 is Whammy and the other is IPS.
- You create a super control knob and make your 2 buttons sub controls of it.
- In the super control action choose No Action in the 2nd button press menu.
- Next to the Whammy button you put Octaves and Level knobs
- Next to IPS you put the Harmony, Scale and Mix buttons

Now when you press Whammy Whammy is highlighted and you know you are in Whammy mode.
When you press IPS IPS is highlighted and you know you are in IPS mode.

You can take a look at my CS6X layout on this site. On the insert pages I do something like that.
Thanks ezb, your alternate suggestion might do the trick :)

Hey Rexdesigner: it's not currently possible, but the suggestion is 100% compatible with how MIDI Designer works and we'll include it in a future release.

Also check EZB's suggestion in the comments on the question. It might do what you need.

Thanks!

Note that when this happens, we'll hopefully have some concept of "groups" of controls, too, so you can hide or show groups as you need.
Wow! I can't wait for this...it will add so much more effective use of real estate.
