I know in a wired midi bus, you daisy chain devices together in order to control multiple devices. But with both an option for wireless and wired Midi, it seems like you can have multiple inputs and multiple outputs.
Tonight I attempted to use the Midi Designer as a MIDI hub. I wirelessly connected to Ableton Live on my PC (using rtpMIDI) and connected to my keyboard using iRig, a wired iPAD interface.
I set up Ableton midi for channel 2, my keyboard for channel 1. I disabled all midi output from Ableton Live.
I was able to control each device from the iPad, but for some reason when I was just playing the keyboard the sound would cut out every few seconds. If I disconnected from the wireless MIDI interface, the sound cutoffs would cease, and it would sound fine.
My guess is that its not forming a continuous bus, but switching back and forth. When it switches, something on the bus occures that kills the sound.
while playing the keyboard and looking at the expert mode I did not see anything occuring when the sound would cut out.
Have you seen this? Or am I attempting to do something I shouldn't?
