Virtual MIDI thru question

Question

Hi admin, I am using MD for the very same purpose discussed above and strangely I was able to control my hardware module from my master keyboard via irig MIDI thru  and MD

I checked the config and found two instances of irig MIDI driver with thru function enabled in Hardware in virutual sources and  and Hardware in virutal destinations (all four ticked)

With this config i was able to control all functions from my master keyboard. I really dont know how I got two instances of the driver.However on closing the program and reopening i was not able to control my sound module.

Now checking the config I found one instance of the driver..

Could you please explain if there is a possiblity of having two copies of the driver running via some function  or  Iam missing something from my end.

Hi Kris,

I'd say "that's impossible" but you've already seen it, so it's obviously not impossible. Unfortunately, all of this stuff related to hardware is hard to test (technical reasons)...

Anyway: currently we don't send back to the same place the MIDI is inputted from. We're considering this for the next release. Our fear was MIDI loops... still need to evaluate on how Thru will work. We might need another button called, "echo"
