Status Indicator

Question

Am a newbie but having fun,. Here's one thing I can't figure out: My software sends on/off status messages to indicate if a channel strip is live or not as note on/off and I wnat to be able to indicate thsi in Mid Designer. I can hook up a button to show the status but its a button so if I hit it it turns the indicator off, so it's out of sync with the controller.

Basically what I'm looking for is a button that can't be pushed but shows its status.

Hi and thanks for this. There are no controls YET in MD that work like this. But there will be, eventually, although your particular use case is new to me. Good suggestion, though.

If I understand your need correctly, try this workaround. Make a matching button and position it on top of the 'indicator' button. Set the Subtype of this second button to "Off" and hide the label. The "indicator" button will show through, although somewhat dimmed, but the top button will prevent it from being pressed.
