Hi, can you describe "the other only goes right to left at one take" a bit more, please? Are you finding both axes (X and Y) to be able to assign them?
I will try. In ableton the dot in the middle of the xy control pane only moves  from left under to the right upper corner. that's all.
But my main problem is that i cannot find anywhere how to program the xy pad in midi designer. all the other knobs, sliders etc are explained in a tutotial, but the xy pad remains a mistery to me.
Thanks, I've added an answer below. Hope it helps. If not, though, don't hesitate to ask comment back on the answer. Thanks!
thanx a lot, that did the trick. great !!!
is there a place were all this info is located. like a manual?
Hi bensz, right now there's no central user manual. Our most centralized info is at midiDR.com/help, and it's pretty up-to-date, but in general we've been responding to user topics as they come up. Please ask your questions here if they are of general interest, or to support [at] midiDesigner.com if you think they only interest you.

Thanks for your patience and enthusiasm for MD.

Best!

There are two concerns with working with the XY Pad. The first is how to access each axis to set it up as you need to. The trick to this is "Design X Control" and "Design Y Control" buttons.

The next issue is how to send out just one or the other for mapping. You can do this with "Send Sample Message"
