MTC Clock Support

It's still the case. It's on the roadmap and we're more excited about it than any of the stuff that comes before it, but the Community has needs. To give you an example, Named Ticks, which has been fundamental to our strength as an controller platform, got inserted into the Roadmap some months back... eventually clock will happen, but it's going to take some time.

And our intuition tells us that lock functions will not  be available over Wi-Fi at all. The latency is fine, but it varies too much. But that's a discussion to have when we're ready to roll up our sleeves and do this.
It's 2017 and 3 years after this post. Is there anything new on MIDI control by MIDI Designer PRO 2 of tempo in my DAW? (DP9)
Ableton Link has made most of this question quite irrelevant for most DAWs (not limited to Ableton). However, controlling tempo and MTC clock have nothing to do with one another: you should be able to control tempo in DP9 and any other DAW by mapping it to a CC. No?
Yes. I figured out that the way to do this in Digital Performer is to use the Tap Tempo function. The tap can be mapped to a CC (such as #64). A button in MDP2 can be assigned to the relevant CC#. Thanks for mentioning the word "mapping". That helped.
"Mapping" is kind of our main thing. See https://mididesigner.com/qa/4662/control-ableton-lives-tempo-via-midi... MIGHT be relevant (or not). Thanks!

Yes.

You can use Midi Designer as a transport control tho and use Cubase as the master MTC/sync controller. I remember Cubase can act as a master sync which you can use to sync other software/hardware.

The admin should let you know if they have plans for syncing.

Hey thanks for the answer.
I'm not looking for transport functions, I know MD can do that. I want to control the tempo of my DAW & hardware in real time.
Don't cubase receive tempo changes?
yes, Cubase can act as a slave, the question is can ND send tempo (MTC / MIDI clock) info. I saw a post from 2012 which stated that MD did not support MTC / Midi Clock. And I was asking if this is still the case. Basically, can MD send MTC / Midi clock info.
Thanks for this and the discussion people. No MTC nor MIDI Clock support at this time 2014-02-01 13:19
Midi Time Code doesn't use tempo , All MTC does is sends real time clock messages like a stop watch with time embedded in the messages. Very useful still but software and hardware have to deal with tempos if they implement it. Midi Timing (MC) is more useful for DJ and DAW type software where it can be used like a stream of pulses that can determine the tempo by how quick the MC messages are received and what PPQN is set on the receiving devices.
I was trying to make you aware that any device can behave as the master sync and Midi Designer can control that master sync device if the device allows it, That's how I use Midi Designer with syncing, It's a work around for now.
Great point, actually, midicode. I know quite a bit about MTC and MIDI Clock, but I didn't notice what the OP was asking. +1 for this great answer.
Thanks for all the great info!
