Storing a preset

It may be possible to send a command to your synth to store a preset but the synth must be able to understand such a command in the first place to allow such a thing.  If it does not, you will have to save the preset on the synth itself.  This is not a great problem in my opinion as such a command deserves a fail safe of some kind to ensure you don't overwrite things by mistake :)

Ok. So I have to delve deeper into the sysex commands to see if there is a storage command. No problem. You might have a point there about mistakenly overwriting something so it might not be a good idea. And now that I am thinking of it some synths might need a storage position question and a confirmation answer before storage. This would only complicate things.
