Multiple preset lists

Question

I have a question about  multiple preset lists. I am working on a PLG150-AN controller and looking at the the Yamaha Editor I see there are 3 preset lists. Only one preset list can be selected at a time. My solution would be to just use a knob for every preset list. Whenever I use a knob that preset will be loaded. I think this is possible. However, I don't know how preset loading works at the moment. Is it something Midi Designer takes care of or do I need to dive in the midi specs and see how the preset loading is done?

 

Edit: I found out that a program change changes the preset and that the bank select changes the bank. I do have a feeling though, that bank select in the CS6X might not be a sequential set of bank numbers. Any idea of how to switch to a custom bank number?

Personally, I would say to try it before anything else. However, you'll need to check the manual for the MIDI target (the PLG150-AN), OR get a MIDI monitor in between the editor and the target to figure out what they're doing.

MD does bank and program change, but the target might not use those at all.

I succeed doing the program change on the CS6X.I did find out that it's better to have the send on release active otherwise there is chaos when selecting a preset.

I switched from the PLG-AN150 to the CS6X itself. I can't get the PLG150-AN to work and I can get the CS6X to work. This question is resolved because I have learnt that Yamaha uses the term bank interchangeably so this question is not posed correctly.
