It has been a VERY long time since I made this promise and I apologize for letting the community down- I'm not even sure you need me anymore. As I mentioned (though I didn't realize how long it's really been- I posted that in JUNE! And I still haven't replaced my phone) my MacBook Pro 2011 and both of my iOS devices (iPhone 5 and iPad 4th Gen) were stolen and being unemployed with half spine/half rod while waiting for a judge to tell you that you aren't disabled enough to receive disability and the woman behind you has $1,300 a month along with section 8 housing because she gets anxious ("No, your honor, I wouldn't say they're panic attacks. I just get very uncomfortable and usually go watch TV in my room if a dog is barking outside") made replacing the UNMENTIONED stolen studio gear as,well as my midi designer designing apparatuses a much longer and busier time than I anticipated. Now everybody's all grown up!

However I never forgot, or stopped working on what I hope to be the ultimate Ableton Live controller for MIDI designer. You know, trying to make the extra time worth it. I have screenshots, but a lot of what's taking so long isn't the designing or even the mapping. It's the MIDI Remote Script I'm writing along with it, allowing instant mapping, features normally unachievable by just clicking midi map mode and most importantly, Options! I'm going to post the shortly in a new thread, but I wanted that one to be exciting, not clouded with the negativity of a 28 year old with two years of disability denials. See you in the other thread, and I hope that I am working on something that meets all your approval.

-Oh. For those wondering about the lady/dog/disability incident, that was not an exaggeration. That was not a fish tale that was absolutely fact. Even better, I've been appealing this two and a half years, she applied three months before being awarded.

I told Dan in an email right before 1.5 came out and i was beta testing both live 9 and MIDI Designer, that I was working on a layout for live 9 using the Selected Track Control script. There are a few incompatiablies with the current version of stc and live 9 and also i'm doing my best to make not just functional, but somewhat cool looking pages. Dan, i'll probably email you tonight with a few questions i probably should know the answer to, but I wanna be sure before posting it. After all, some of these layouts are exceptionally detailed, but then again, I'm also making a different kind of layout. As we are able to share pages as well as full layouts, I'm probably going to release it in segments, you know:

Pack 1: Selected track control, 12ish channel mixer with 4 return tracks (maybe 8 if my Dan is able to help me with one of those questions), clip/scene launcher, arrange view control, session view control

Pack 2 will most likely be the suite instruments. I doubt i'll do the live packs and max for live stuff as theres just so much and would like to work on the komolete plugins

Hi Erich, thanks for this, looking forward to your email and we'll see what we can figure out and/or promise for future versions. Best,
Dan
of course. recently got an iPad so my original gripe with knob size (if you're from the UK, which I'm not, "that's what she said") is now irrelevant, but I'm working on dual layouts as well. I think in these "Call for Layouts," the type of device you're requesting the layout for be specified. I gotta back up some stuff, but ill be shooting you that email afterword Dan. i have a few suggestions too.
I just wanted to update real quick: I have been super busy with gigs, converting my house into a recording studio, family stuff, and producing an album. The main layout for STC is finished, but I need to edit the python Midi Remote Script to fix it so that the signals are reached on a different channel, so that when you push (this is pulled out of my behind) the toggle between arrange and session, you don't also hit C4 on your currently selected instrument.

Also, my Launchpad S was recently stolen. Though it's actually one of (if not) the cheapest piece of gear I have, but when I combined it with the launchpad95 midi control script, it opened up worlds of possibilities and could take a sketch of a track and turn it into something worth having faster than any tool I've used, making it probably my most used composition tool.

Point of that long anecdote is that I'm also building what I'm calling the "iLaunchpad" for ipad to replace it for myself and intended to share both with the community.

TL;DR Been busy, layout really almost done, working on Novation Launchpad layout.
