Need to figure out the 'Hardware and Virtual Source / Destinations' - not found

votes
Great - it worked! I had bought a WiFi device just in case, but will now return it. Next is to figure out the 'Hardware and Virtual Source / Destinations', which has not been found now... Guess I need some additional hardware....
related to an answer for:

The computer connected via Ethernet would show up as a Wi-Fi device, not a hardware destination. It's a Wi-Fi device from your iPad's point of view.
So you don't need hardware. You need rtpMIDI.

Hi - I did install rtpMIDI and that allowed me to connect the iPad to the PC. But the SOURCE and DESTINATION boxes in MIDI Designer would be continually searching. They never find anything. My MIDI input on my PC is an M-Audio Audiophile 192.
From what I can tell, I needed to install MIDI-OX on my PC in order to direct the MIDI packets from Designer to my Zildjian GEN-16 DCP. MIDI-OX is like a virtual patch cable. It WORKED thankfully.
But I can't help but think that something is wrong since MIDI Designer is continually searching? It finds my PC in the first box, but the other 2 boxes, no...
Glad you got this working.
1) Yes, you need to use something like MIDI-OX to route to your GEN-16.
2) Nothing is wrong that MIDI Designer is looking for a hardware connection. That box spinning has no "cost" to the app.
Thanks!
Dan
