Account for the Overlap

Ticks overlap at the min-and-max of the subcontrols, so four sequential knobs always N-1 less ticks. So 4 knobs with 100 ticks each require 397 ticks in the supercontrol.

Try it with small numbers to see how this works. For instance, set up 3 sequentail subcontrol knobs from 1-10 with 10 ticks. Supercontrol can be 1-28 with 28 ticks.

So to repeat, with N sequential knobs, the ticks of the supercontrol have to be the ticks of the subcontrols, summed, minus (N-1).

Named Ticks to the Rescue

You might say, "Well, that's annoying!" However, you can use Named Ticks to get the supercontrol to show whatever values you think are appropriate.
