Very long question

I am still trying to make a slider to change patches on my VG99 and have come close but it isn't perfect yet. I have a slider that controls 2 sub sliders . one sub slider controls 4 sequential knobs that each send program change 1-100. the other sub slider controls 4 sequential knobs that each send only the same bank change over and over so knob 1 sends bank 1 knob 2 sends bank 2 etc. the program knobs send on release and the bank knobs send always. this works great. when i move my main slider my bank changes send first then my program sends. this gets me all of my presets from 1 to 400 quickly. my problem is , i think, with my ticks. when I get to certain spots it will not be in sync and sometimes I miss a preset. I forgot to mention i have 2 buttons that control my main slider so that when i get close i can get precise  with the up and down buttons. I first tried every control with 400 ticks then i tried 399 ticks and then i started trying different combinations. It is so close to working right but close doesn't count. I originally had my main slider control all eight knobs it wouldn't work right so i added the two middle sliders. I can send my template if that is possible.

Hi and thanks for this question (and sorry for the delay, we took the weekend off).

The answer might be any of the following:
1) we've messed up the rounding on ticks (doubtful)
2) Roland messed up the values it expects for the ticks (doubtful)
3) your min-max are wrong. Check http://mididesigner.com/qa/1690/song-pointer-position-values-dont-line-up
4) we're sending too much info to the Roland at once, and missing because of that

But in all cases, the real way forward starts with deciding/figuring-out/documenting what the ticks are supposed to be. If that's impossible, I would ask if the MIDI max might help to solve the problem.

In any case, we can move this to email if you don't mind (via button in Config->Actions)... there are a bunch of issues here and the main goal is to reduce the number of things we're considering as much as possible. At least we can figure out where the problem is and then move to solving it.
