Wow! Thanks for your detailed question and your clarity. I'll look into this shortly. Finding bugs like these is rough going. Some of these have already been handled, but I'll put a much more detailed comment here tomorrow. For now, thank you muchly. For now: what version of the app are you using? Config -> Settings -> About.
Hi and thanks for this. I'm looking into the first problem, and something weird is definitely going on (i.e., I can recreate the problem).

I'll be back with more as I know it.

Thanks!
Dan
Hi. Found and fixed the first bug. It's a safeguard that trips... well, I'll skip the details, but: please get in touch to get a alpha to work with for this layout if you want. Looking into the other issues now.
Regarding the naming of controls: I'll have to test this with an older iPad that's running 5.1 (this weekend). For now I'm unable to replicate.
Regarding subcontrol ordering: you're saying that the actual subcontrols as seen in design mode are out of order on reload?
Good to know you can't replicate the naming issue.  I should update my os. I don't like to update everything automatically when there's a new version, if it aint broke, don't fix it kinda thing. I went to the lengths of typing my names in Notes app then pasting into MD.

With the save and load layout issue, yes the Subs became slightly out of order, in use and in design mode. It's also a couple buttons will be in a different state than last save, like a momentary button will be stuck on, then after a press, acts normally. I can't say how often this happens, I don't think it's every time I reload a layout. Maybe after os update this won't happen.

Thank you for the explanation of the super/sub behavior, makes perfect sense, I now know what to expect!!

I'm using version: Midi Designer Lite Unlocked Version 1.5.2 Build 1520

Thanks again for your help! Your app is ruling right now, can't wait to share this layout with the forum, it's super fun to play.
Do not update your iOS on account of this. It's possible that I can't replicate on iOS 5 either. Let me see what I can find out, first.
I'll have to check this subcontrol ordering problem, too. I can imagine why it's happening...
I am unable to reproduce the reload with subs out of order issue, I'm now thinking it was something I inadvertantly did myself, not the app.  But the other two issue I can reproduce on my setup: naming the label and the default setting on a button.
The button thing I was running into last night, any button I made, toggle or momentary, if I change the default setting under the midi page to off, it always says on after applying.  If I go back to the wheel to choose again, my last choice is highlighted, not always 'on' as indicated on the main midi page. This happens on all buttons for me.
Hi austin, you're on the beta team, so you've seen 1.5.3. Am I good to close this ticket? Thanks!
Yes! My two issues have been cleared up.  Funny though in this latest version if i create a supercontrol, then turn off supercontrol, the subs are still listed, (good if you put super back on everything's still there,) but if i turn this super off then add this same control as a sub to something that would have created a loop (it was a sub of the first control) had i not turned off super; it says it cant because of a loop, but since super had been turned off there should be no loop. follow that?!?  not a big deal i just went and erased the subs from the now turned off super and no loops persisted. huh? yes. ok...
Great find! I'm glad I erred on the conservative side, but this is a problem. Thinking about how to resolve it.... I'll let you know when I've solved it... hopefully soon. Best!
Dan
Austin, I'm marking this as closed. Leaving the subs for a super is intentional (but not desirable in some cases). I realize that it's no consolation if you happen to not want this functionality, but... I hope it's not a dealbreaker for you! Thanks
