when I add a button, I get 2

I'm very new. just started making layouts today. When I create a button or slider etc..., I get 2 instances of it and I can't figure out why. If I delete one, it deltes both. I'm probably doing something fundamenatlly stupid. but its making my fundamentally mental so if anyone knows what's going on, please let me know.

The best thing to do is to use More -> Config -> Actions -> New.
