How to send a Tune Request (sysex)?

I would like to bew able to send a Tune Request to my Roland Jupiter-8 (w/Encore MIDI) from my iPad.  How do I set it up in MIDI Designer?  The Encore manual says that the sysex Tune Request is F6, so i tried setting up a momentary button to send sysex "F6", but nothing happens.  I also tried a toggle switch.  What am I doing wrong?  From what understand, it's a "system common" command, which doesn't require device ID's, etc.(?)

Hi and thanks for your question. From what I can understand from the MIDI spec, we don't handle this situation yet in MIDI Designer. Is this a very important use-case for you? Just trying to gauge the importance for MIDI Designer/you for future implementation.

It's not really that important. It's just one of the few commands the Jupiter-8 Encore MIDI will respond to and I was just testing it out.  Thought I was doing something wrong...
