Yes, this would be great and also probably give people a chance to easily modify it for JV-1010 or 1080....

As a guy who creates templates for his gear I can say 2 things are stopping people from creating templates.

1. Do I have the gear myself?

2. Depending on the type of gear it can take a lot of time to create a template.

In case of point 1 it makes testing difficult if you don't have the gear yourself.

In case of point 2 it can really take a lot of time. I have been working on a CS6X template for long time. It is probably one of the most extensive synthesizers out there. I think people are already glad when they finish their templates.

So why don't you guys take a shot at it? You can get support over here if you run into a problem. it is really not difficult to create a layout. The only thing you need is the manual that describes the CCs and the sysex messages. And those messages you need to enter in your controls. It is that simple. There is not another Ipad midi controller that is as easy as that.

 

And wouldn't you want your name associated with the layout you made? Like :"Wow, did you see the JV2080 layout anzeigen made? Awesome stuff."

All good points - I simply don't have the time & I'd gladly pay somebody (maybe a group buy) for someone to make one for the 2080 & with all expansion boards : )

Paying somebody would be one way to go. If anybody wants to design layouts for pay, please get in touch with us via config -> actions -> email us

On the other hand, another way to go is a group collaboration, perhaps?

A third way to go is to offer a Roland JV-2080 to somebody (perhaps as a loaner) to create the layout.

We'd love to get some of these layouts that haven't been done yet....
