Hi,
I don't know which is the exact term to use but is there any chance to set up controllers like faders and pots to begin modulating a parameter just after the controller's value is crossing the one on which the controlled parameter is at ?

Can you do what you're trying to do with MIDI min and max? Thanks!
I think you might be referring to "pick-up" mode (or takeover mode). How are you controlling the controls?
yes, pickup mode, is it a future option ?
the min/max settings don't solve this.
another question: is mididesigner bi-directional ?
what do you mean for "how do you control the controls" ?
How do you control the controls means: are you doing this ALL on the iPad/iPhone, or are you using external MIDI hardware?
We're fully bidirectional with almost all MIDI message types.
controlling the controls: I want to use the Mididesigner-loaded ipad to replace a Novation Remote Zero, which has pickup mode.
Good about MD being bi-directional.
I am still programming it and stuck to note on/off messages at the moment...
That's what's confusing me a bit. You're 100% in the iPad, then, right? What would pickup do for you? Once you're spinning the control, it's already at the right value. Sorry I'm not understanding, just need a bit more help to get there.
it's very kind you are offering such a great availability in listening to my needs.
I am working in Audiomulch and it doesn't currently offer bi-directional midi comunication. Ross is working on this for the next update and I look forward to it. So when it will be finally implemented everything will be fine. Until then it won't be possible to use this ipad to substitute the novation.
No problem, Luca.
I just got off the phone with User #1 and we agreed that on the Novation (I have one here) the pickup only refers to knobs. Rotary encoders do not need pickup, since they're automatically at the right value. MIDI Designer works in this way: no pickup needed.
We do pickup on pedalboards, but that's a different use case.
Thanks and please spread the word/review MIDI Designer.
Best!
Dan
